About Me

My name is Brian Jones. I am 58 years old. I have lived in Alabaster, Alabama with my wife Stephanie for the past 22 years. I grew up in the Birmingham, Alabama area. I have been disabled for nearly 40 years. I fell down an entire flight of stairs when I was 8 years old. I herniated a disc right behind my heart in the most protected part of the spine. The surgery to repair it is too risky. So, I live with the pain.

I grew up working for my dad starting at the age of 10 years old. When  I was only 12 years old, my dad started buying old car batteries. We used to cut them open to get the lead out of them. The lead was recycled so it could be used in new products.

After high school, I joined the navy where I studied electronics. I worked on radar systems for naval aircraft. My back problems made it impossible for me to do my job. I was given a medial discharge after one year of service.

After I served in the navy, I attended Jefferson State Junior College on a full academic scholarship. I studied accounting and computer programing. After college,  I worked for my dad's company in the office. I wrote software to help with daily operations and payroll.

When I was 21 years old, I was tested for lead poisoning for the first time. My lead count was so high that I was admitted into the hospital for one week for treatment.  It turns out that the way we handled the lead was highly toxic to humans. After 9 years of continuous lead poisoning, my body was in really bad shape.

The lead damaged every organ in my body, and it reeked havoc on my nervous system. I have spent my entire adult life dealing with the medical aftermath of the lead poisoning and the back injury.

Unable to participate in life in a meaningful way, I spent my time studying the world around us. Over the years, I have studied many things including American history, America's economy, world history, climate change, website design, population growth, and many other subjects. When I discovered the water crisis, I knew that I had to use all of my skills to help solve this problem before it destroys all of our lives. That is when I designed The Future Now Network.
